Colorful scribbles for Scena9, new beginnings and the deluge.

tbt 2016

2016 zapped through with very few posts. Been busy posting on tumblr, lately Instagram as well. Seems as though the Internet fosters personality disorder through a range of tantalizing outlets :) Above is an abridged version of the past year's endeavors, among which a collaboration with Livia Coloji for Plai Festival, postcards for Anthony Frost Bookshop, one dossier of Galeria Posibila's Master Degree Shows, an illustration from a series for Glamour Romania and a cornered detail from a series of illustrations on depression for Andrada Fiscutean's article up on Vice, via Bursele Superscrieri.

Mexico

Tiny skulls or stones for an article by Andrada Lăutaru up on Casa Jurnalistului. >>> English version here <<<

Șpaga

Sequential run through the many shapes and sizes of bribery in the Romanian domestic landscape, up on Vice Romania.

old farts

Comic booklet out soon, hopefully.

new comic for Vice Romania

New comic for Vice Romania, you can read the whole thing here. Also, this month,
Vice Romania is celebrating Children's Day through a month of documentary articles
centered round Romanian orphans. Tough material but worth investigating for a more
incisive look into anti-abortion laws and child welfare.

Started a new monthly collaboration with Scena9.ro

Sketching around, metro portraits for a spec of a sec, supermarket checks and plastic facts, wrapped up in comics packs.

the flea market blues

Been completely absent minded these past months, juggling flaming deadlines, managing a tumblr account and
getting the hang of instagram. Still, blogspot's the virtual home, so here's a small showcase of a comics that will
appear, this April, in a comics booklet I'm doing for Centrala UK and Ligatura Festival in Poznan. Hopefully,
I'll be posting more regularly from now on.

temptation

If one's life were to be judged according to the number of uploads per year, then mine's been particularly uneventful. Regardless, I've been fairly busy lamenting my insignificant experience in the sequential form, and have decided to share the outcome with you, dearest lonesome readers :) This comic was done for the Fumetto Competition, and it deals with temptation's tantalizing tentacles. Happy new!

Novo Doba 2015

Contribution to Novo Doba2015, in Beograd. More details around the corner
The subject for the festival’s anthology was These things they do to us.

Ligatura Festival 2015

Was one of the contestants at this year's Ligatura Festival in Poland's little jewel, Poznan. Met a unique mix of people,
Belgian comic artist, Polish animators, French hitchhikers, German cartoonists, an Israeli mad pencil duo and a myriad
of reasons to linger, here's a short list: mysterious Malwina Mosiejczuk, lady Hanuka Lohrengel, Mongolian explorer
Marjorie Newnham, sign language interpreter Matt Boyce, Mr Hoffmann and Mr Goldstein, Belgian knight Alexander Robyn, trailer boy Gwion Christmas, wanna-be-Ku Klux Klan-members' sketcher Janem Soekenem and Polish Janek Koza.

how to teleport a comic

One of my comics/etchings was exhibited during the Fumetto Festival , so hurra hurra for my troglodyte ha-ha!
In other words, I am very thrilled to have been even an insignificantly microscopic part of this event :)

tadaaa-two comics

2 new comics for Vice Romania, numero uno about amore and numero due a skim-through the everyday life of an average
Romanian farmer.

the stuff dreams are made of

available in most major bookshops

The Czech-Romanian collaboration in comics is a project undertaken by Jumatatea Plina
and the Czech Embassy in Romania. Together with a growing number of Romanian
cartoonists and writers, they've managed to publish some 6 different volumes, in three
languages over 1 year.  There are 4 other volumes underway so stay tuned. Amongst the
team of collaborators: Akira,  Adrian Barbu, Maria Surducan and Ileana Surducan.
Covers and other typographic paraphernalia by yours truly.
